Video shows wild boar attacking teenage girl in Haifa, injuring her
On Wednesday, a wild boar attacked and injured a teenage girl in the northern city of Haifa.
In security camera footage, the boar can be seen running out of an alley towards the 14-year-old and another girl as they pass an ice cream shop on the street.
“She was on her way and had nowhere to run,” her father told the Ynet news site.
The girl suffered injuries to her back and leg after she was apparently knocked down by the boar. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, including a rabies shot.
The municipality of Haifa was trying to find the animal, with the aim of putting it to sleep.
The incident comes as feral pigs have acted increasingly brazenly in Haifa and the surrounding Carmel region in recent years, with several people injured in attacks. Coronavirus closures, which have reduced public life and travel, as well as a 2019 ban on the slaughter of wild boar in Haifa, have led to an increased invasion of animals.

Last month, a wild boar smashed through an apartment window in Haifa and smashed things in the house before escaping.
