Rangers ‘special’ target must ‘leave’ Dortmund battle for £8m deal
The ‘special’ Oscar Gloukh is set to leave Maccabi Tel Aviv as Rangers take on Borussia Dortmund for the £8million wonderkid, says former Israel international Gil Vermouth Sport5.
Now Israel has produced a lot of good footballers. But not many “big ones”.
Gloukh, then has the makings of a real generational talent. At just 18 years old, this capricious and captivating number ten is on track to follow in the golden footsteps of Yossi Benayoun.
According to scottish sun, Rangers spotted the teenage sensation during Israel’s run to the final of the European U19 Championships. Perennial talent scouts Ajax and Dortmund have also shown interest, with Maccabi Tel Aviv slapping an £8m price tag on Gloukh’s ever-expanding shoulders.
Rangers like Maccabi Tel Aviv Israeli wonderkid Oscar Gloukh
“(Before Euro U19) I would have told him not to leave Maccabi Tel Aviv,” Vermouth said. “Do another season and then leave.
“Now I would recommend that he leave.
“If a club signs him and invests in him and takes him on as a project, then there is a chance of success. Gloukh is something special. He has to look at his options, sit down with his parents and coaches and decide.
Gloukh’s father insisted last week that one of the game’s most exciting up-and-coming playmakers was “ready” to make the jump to a major European league. The sky, he adds, “is the limit” for a player of the teenager’s raw talent and fearsome work ethic.
“After (former Liverpool, Chelsea and West Ham ace) Benayoun, I don’t remember such a player (coming from Israel),” Vermouth added.
Gloukh was reluctant to give many gifts when asked about his future over the weekend. The baby-faced striker tells N12 that he has no idea what the future holds for him as things stand.
But perhaps Liel Abada’s success at Celtic could inspire Gloukh to follow in his compatriot’s footsteps.
“A rosy future awaits them” former Anfield favorite Martin Skrtel says de Gloukhletting him predict a future “in the Premier League and the Champions League”.
