August 22, 2021 ?? Doha: The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) Representation Mission in the West Bank and Jerusalem is conducting a surgical project, with a total budget of $ 182,067 (QR 663,634).

As part of its medical convoy program in the West Bank, Palestine, the QRC is sponsoring cleft lip surgeries for children and urologic surgeries for patients with kidney failure, in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society ( PRCS).

Varying from minor to moderate cases, the beneficiaries were selected from the waiting lists of the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MOH). The project is hosted by PRCS hospitals in the cities of Al-Bireh and Hebron.

So far, 28 and 31 surgeries have been performed in urology patients and in patients with cleft lip / palate, respectively. At the same time, the list of medical equipment required for the target surgical services has been drawn up, and they are being procured from suppliers already contracted through a public tender before the start of the project. .

This project addresses many of the challenges faced by the healthcare sector in the West Bank, including the lack of qualified medical professionals and supplies, the many delays or cancellations of surgeries due to excessive demand for surgical services at Ministry of Health hospitals. Health, and the high costs of treatment that patients cannot afford, which can lead to health complications.
