HUD, FHFA and VA announce extension of moratoriums on foreclosures and evictions until December 31, 2020

On August 27, HUD announced that it was extending its Covid-related foreclosure and eviction moratoria for FHA insured loans that were due to expire August 31 through December 31, 2020, and issued a mortgagee letter implementing the extensions.
On the same day, the Federal Housing Finance Agency announced that the moratoriums on foreclosures and evictions of single-family homes for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, which were also due to expire on August 31, would be extended until December 31, 2020. Again the same day, Freddie Mac issued a maintenance bulletin to implement the extended moratoria.
On August 24, the Veterans Administration issued two circulars extending its moratoriums on seizures and deportations, which will also expire from August 31 to December 31, 2020.
