Hemmed Signs for Wanderers | League A
Western Sydney Wanderers FC are proud to announce the signing of forward Tomer Hemed until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The Israel international comes to the club after a recent stint at Wellington Phoenix where he played 21 games and scored 11 goals.
The 34-year-old forward is set to make his second season of domestic competition with the Wanderers and has extensive international experience playing for Mallorca, Brighton & Hove Albion and Queens Park Rangers as well as his childhood club Maccabi Haifa. .
The 2017/18 Israeli Footballer of the Year is a proven goalscorer and will team up with the Reds and Blacks to start the club’s pre-season preparations later this month.
Head Coach Carl Robinson welcomed Hemed to the club.
“We are delighted to have Tomer with us for the next A-League season,” said Robinson.
“Tomer is an excellent striker and brings experience abroad at club and country level, as well as an understanding of the national football landscape which will greatly benefit the team.
“Tomer is not only leading from the front third but off the pitch his professionalism is first class and he will be invaluable as we continue to build something special here at the Wanderers.
“We welcome him and his family to the club.
Hemed said he looks forward to bonding with his teammates and playing for the Wanderers.
“I am very happy to join the Western Sydney Wanderers,” said Hemed.
“There is a lot of work to be done with the club and the high expectations and ambitions of the fans, but I am ready to give my all for the club and the community of West Sydney.
“I am looking forward to coming to Western Sydney with my family and playing in front of the passionate Wanderers fans that I was able to experience as an opposition player last season at Bankwest Stadium and I am delighted to have them now at my sides.
“The goal is to be successful at the club and I am ready to contribute in any way I can.”
