Everything you need to know about Walmart’s new delivery service
With more people are shopping online this year than ever before, many retailers have shifted their strategies to focus more on e-commerce. So it’s no surprise that big-box giant Walmart has created its own subscription program – Walmart+ — to make shopping online at Walmart much easier. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Walmart accelerated the development of its Express Delivery service in April 2020, which delivers online orders to customers’ doorsteps in less than two hours. The retailer’s new service, Walmart Plus, which costs $12.95 per month or $98 per year, launches today.
Like its direct competitor, Amazon Prime, WalmartMore offers several perks and benefits to members for a monthly or annual fee. Although Walmart Plus doesn’t currently have any wardrobe or streaming services, key to its appeal is the offer of unlimited same-day delivery of groceries and whatever else you’d get at your local Walmart, such as toothpaste, electronics or office supplies. Members also get gas discounts and a Scan & Go feature that lets you shop and pay with a smartphone in the store.

What is Walmart Plus?
Walmart+ is a new service from Walmart that gives members access to a number of benefits, including unlimited free deliveries on orders of $35 or more, member pricing on fuel at select gas stations and the use of mobile Scan & Go, which allows you to scan items as you shop in store, simplifying your checkout process.

How does Walmart Plus work?

Alternatively, you can walk into a store and use the Scan & Go mobile feature of the Walmart app to shop and pay contactless. To access Walmart Plus member fuel discounts, open the Walmart app and select member fuel prices from your W+ membership page and follow the instructions.

It depends on what you enjoy. Walmart+ membership is usually cheaper than Amazon Prime ($12.95/month and $98/year vs. $12.99/month and $119/year) and offers unlimited free same-day delivery plus member discounts on gas and shopping and payments contactless with their Scan & Go feature. While Amazon Prime also offers free same-day shipping (on qualifying orders over $35), it also offers streaming entertainment as well as Amazon wardrobe services .
What is the difference between Walmart Plus and Walmart Delivery Unlimited?
Walmart Delivery Unlimited was Walmart’s first membership-based delivery service, which offered members free unlimited delivery for an annual or monthly fee. Walmart Delivery Unlimited has essentially been replaced by Walmart+which also includes a number of other benefits.
