Active Covid-19 cases in Israel are below 30,000; 1,990 new cases on Saturday
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in Israel has fallen from 2,713 to 29,155, the state health ministry said.
This is the first time since August 6 that the number of active cases in Israel has fallen below 30,000, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
This marked a sharp drop of 68.1% since September 5, when a record 91,346 active cases were reported in the country.
The ministry also reported 1,990 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 1,304,249.
The death toll from the virus increased by nine to 7,894. Total recoveries rose to 1,267,200 after the addition of 4,870 newly recovered cases.
The number of people who received the first doses of Covid-19 vaccines in Israel reached nearly 6.18 million, or 65.8% of its total population, while more than 5.6 million took two or more doses of 3.7 million received three injections, according to the ministry.
